What We Do

Since 2000, our founding company, Pacific Coast Trail Runs, has been the leader and innovator in trail running in California. We have created a community of passionate and kind trail enthusiasts that has helped us maintain our brand. Since Wednesday March 11th (the day COVID-19 caused pro sports organizations to cancel seasons), we have continued our to lead our community safely through the 2020 pandemic. TheTrailPortal.com is the result of our concept “Open Course” trail racing. It has been so well received that is caused us to look at other trail sports and say why not them too? Below is our phased plan:

PHASE 1: Trail Running & Hiking

PHASE 2: Rucking, FKT, & SUMMITS

PHASE 3: Mountain Biking, Gravel Riding, & other rides.

PHASE 4: Horseback riding & Other adventures

“Adventure is worthwhile in itself.” - Amelia Earhart

“ Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.” - John Muir

What We’ve Achieved

  • We have donated thousands of dollars to the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council, other local small businesses, and non-profit organizations.

  • Since 2016 we have annually contracted three black-owned businesses that are a huge part of our personality and community while continuosly providing an inclusive environment for al people of color and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • We have created a category of adventuring called “Open Course” racing which we will thrive in muliple trail sports categories through the COVID-19 era and beyond.

  • We have created a safe and welcoming place for the visually impaired by subisdizing entries for California School for the Blind & Vista Center for the Visually impaired students.

  • We have created an inviting and safe place for all people of color, women, LGBTQ, youth and families to come together on trails and celebrate personal and team achievement.

  • Since 1990, our team has coached over 5,000 youth - including at-promise (previously at-risk) and those on the autism spectrum.

  • Since 2000, we have produced and volunteered at over 500 trail running/hiking and training events across multiple sports and fitness categories.

  • While 2020 was disaster financially for Pacific Coast Trail Runs and others, we have never given up on our desire to continue to create memorable experiences through safe environments while continuing to focus on building a positive community.
